Gemesys is an omni-channel e-commerce and EPOS solution for retail jewellers. Gemesys combines e-commerce, in-store selling and online marketplaces into one easy-to-use platform where retailers can “stock once, and sell anywhere” both online and in-store.
The platform incorporates over 70 marketplace, e-commerce and shipping integrations, a consumer-facing product marketplace, a B2B sales channel, streamlined in-store and online EPOS options and the power to build a branded e-commerce store.
The entire solution has been built from scratch to serve the British jewellery sector, and to modernise and reinvent the options available to independent retailers. It is being described as the “multi-faceted tool essential to any jewellers’ bench” and one of the most intuitive and contemporary systems for retailers who are serious about making sales.
Gemesys ensures no complicated setup and does away with old-fashioned point-of-sale platforms in favour of a simple, easy-to-use and low-cost solution. Retailers will be able to list one or multiple stores, sell direct to consumers and the trade, synchronise their online and in-store selling, and take payments via a card terminal that can be set-up using a single linking code.
Entire product lines can be easily imported into the Gemesys platform from a single spreadsheet, or existing e-commerce platform, and business owners/managers can track popular products, best-sellers, most profitable locations and top salespeople thanks to a concise sales dashboard.
Now, Gemesys is searching for sector-wide beta testers to trial its innovative tools and provide actionable feedback that can strengthen the platform moving into an official release in late 2023. Those with an interest in digital technologies and e-commerce are welcomed, as are independent retailers who want to explore a fresh option for their business.
Gemesys has been created by industry professional Miles Hoare, who has held positions across the jewellery trade for 10 years. His father was the late Michael Hoare, who served as the chief executive of the National Association of Goldsmiths and was actively involved in establishing SaferGems and the Responsible Jewellery Council.
He says: “Having seen first-hand the challenges that independent jewellery retailers face in running their businesses digitally. Using my background in coding, web design and software engineering, I have created a new, innovative and custom-built platform that not only offers retailers all the key selling tools in one place but enables true omni-channel selling by collecting and collating sales across all sales channels into one easy to use interface.
“Gemesys has spent a vast amount of time in testing and development, but now we need volunteers, digital marketers, e-commerce managers, small business owners and independents to come on board as Beta testers and help mould the platform to best shape their needs.”
Anyone interested in participating should fill in the form on the Gemesys website: https://business.gemesys.co.uk/register-for-beta/.
