Gemesys launches new all-in-one point-of-sale option for retail stores

Omnichannel e-commerce and epos provider Gemesys has announced it will now offer hardware options for retail jewellers, allowing them to run their front-of-store operations from a purpose-built touchscreen system.

Sold as an all-in-one system, the new point-of-sale option includes a card terminal, receipt printer, touchscreen point-of-sale system and all the necessary peripherals bundled into one simple to set-up package.

As part of plans to move into hardware sales that provide extended features to the Gemesys platform, Gemesys will offer customers the option to purchase their all-in-one system as a package or as single individual items – enabling flexibility for customers to buy a fully road-tested system or add to their own existing hardware to integrate with Gemesys.
Gemesys prides itself on being a platform-agnostic software, allowing customers to run their storefront from anything, whether a mobile phone or a purpose-built touchscreen point-of-sale system.

For other small and medium-sized businesses where costs need to be kept low, Gemesys can run from any laptop or tablet using individual peripherals to provide a low-cost start with a professional point-of-sale that can grow to scale as their business expands.

“Over the past year, we’ve been working with suppliers and manufacturers to road-test some of point-of-sale systems that fit our customer needs,” says Gemesys CEO Miles Hoare. “Gemesys’ first championed system is a unique tilt screen system that allows jewellers to provide customer interaction with a flippable touchscreen.

“Whilst it might seem like a gimmick at first, we’re seeing an increasing adoption of in-store interaction with the customer at the point of sale, whether for financing, bespoke commissions or repairs. As an omnichannel system, enabling these kinds of customer touchpoints is key to ensuring a seamlessly integrated and fully-involved customer experience.

 

 

“The launch of this new hardware side of our business is an initial stage of providing a range of services that suit single store, owner-occupier stores or larger multi-store operations with advanced company-wide stock, service, sales and staff management and reporting.”

To date, one small business has adopted a Gemesys build-your-own set-up, whilst another high street store has chosen the all-in-one-system for their premises. Early indications suggest both are performing well, and feedback is positive.

Hoare adds: “We are already starting to see demand for both flexible and full-service solutions from our existing beta clients.”

Gemesys’ new all-in-one system extends the range of options that will shortly be available via the Gemesys website. Whilst not currently available under general release, it is accepting pre-registration to the platform as well as beta sign-up.
